Every year on the second Sunday of December, Ukraine celebrates Charity Day. This holiday was established by Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 1220/2007 of December 13, 2007, with the aim of supporting public initiatives, the sincere desire of Ukrainian society to adhere to the principles of mercy and humanism, actively promoting the development of charitable activities, and supporting organizations and structures engaged in such activities in modern society. In 2025, Charity Day falls on December 14.
Selfless practical help to anyone in need has always been the foundation of kindness and humanity throughout the world. Charity is one form of this assistance and often becomes a "lifeline" for people who find themselves in difficult life situations.
Charitable activity is one of the most respected occupations in every country. The level of development of charity is a clear indicator of the development of society.
Today, as Ukraine fights for its independence, charity has not faded away but, on the contrary, has become an example that is significant throughout the world. Charities work tirelessly to be able to help our defenders and, behind the lines, to support those who find themselves in difficult circumstances.
