From November 15 to 26, the XXV Summer Deaflympics will be held in the Japanese capital Tokyo – the main competition among the world's best athletes with hearing impairments, which traditionally takes place every four years.
Ukraine will be represented at the Games by a team of 177 athletes who will compete in 18 sports. Six athletes from two sports from the Donetsk region have been included in the national team.
In athletics, the Donetsk region will be represented by Honored Masters of Sports of Ukraine Natalia Ursulenko, Rimma Filimoshkina, and Master of Sports of Ukraine of international class Yulia Kisyova.
Three more athletes from the Donetsk region will compete in judo: Honored Masters of Sports of Ukraine Luka Netyaga, Marina Pogorelova, and Master of Sports of International Class Andriy Pogorelov.
The athletes will be accompanied in Tokyo by distinguished coaches of Ukraine from Donetsk Oblast Nataliia Vasylenko and Oleksandr Zemechov, as well as coach-masseuse Tetiana Hananenko.
