Published 16 April 2026 year, 16:51

On April 16, 2026, a joint online event was held between the Avdiivka and Stryi communities as part of the national project “Side by Side: United Communities.” The meeting served as an important platform for exchanging experiences, presenting cultural initiatives, and strengthening interregional cooperation.

At the meeting, key areas of the Avdiivka community’s work in the field of intangible cultural heritage preservation were presented, and participants discussed completed and planned projects aimed at preserving local identity, promoting traditions, and engaging youth in the community’s cultural life.

Special attention was given to the project “Culinary Practices of the Borderlands: A Dialogue of Cultures.” The initiative aims to explore and promote the gastronomic heritage of border regions as an important element of cultural identity.

In turn, representatives of the Stryi community shared their experience in organizing cultural life, particularly in preparing and conducting Easter celebrations in the Stryi region.

The participants also learned about the Stryi community’s efforts in the field of preserving intangible cultural heritage. The importance of systematic work to document, study, and promote cultural practices at the local level was emphasized.

In concluding the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness for further cooperation, the exchange of initiatives, and the implementation of joint cultural projects. A logical continuation of the dialogue will be a planned joint meeting with young people, aimed at establishing direct interaction between the active generations of Avdiivka and Stryi.
