As part of the national project “Side by Side: United Communities,” Iryna Myronenko, a teacher at the Dmytro Chernyavsky Lyceum in Bakhmut, was invited by the Poltava City Council’s Department of Education to participate in a professional development event for administrators, which took place at Poltava City Council Gymnasium No. 28.
The focus was on key components of effective educational institution management: founding documents and the institution’s charter, the internal system for ensuring educational quality, institutional planning, labor relations, working hours and compensation, teacher evaluation, and record-keeping at the educational institution.
Renowned Polaris experts participated in the event: Oleg Fasolia, Serhii Diatlenko, Vyacheslav Dolid, Tetiana Ozerova, Yevhen Krynitskyi, and Olena Rusnachenko.
A key feature of the meeting was its hands-on format. Participants directly reviewed school documentation specified by the program and, together with the experts, analyzed its content, structure, and compliance with current requirements. Significant attention was paid to the development of effective administrative documents that take into account the individual characteristics of the educational institution, its needs, and the requirements of current legislation.
Such professional gatherings offer not only new knowledge but also an opportunity to exchange experiences, rethink established approaches, find practical solutions, and strengthen the educational institution’s management capacity. Partnerships between communities open up new opportunities for the professional development of educators, the dissemination of best practices, and mutual support.
