As part of the national project "Side by Side: United Communities," a warm and meaningful online meeting took place between the Department of Culture of the Bakhmut City Council and the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Kremenchuk City Council.

This dialogue was the first step in a new partnership that opens up prospects for joint work and cultural exchange.

During the meeting, representatives of the Bakhmut community:

  • introduced their colleagues to the activities of cultural institutions in the Bakhmut community during the war;
  • learned about initiatives and opportunities in the cultural sphere in Kremenchuk;
  • agreed on the implementation of joint projects between libraries, museums, clubs, and art schools;
  • discussed measures to preserve and exchange intangible cultural heritage;
  • discussed holding joint exhibitions and events dedicated to honoring the memory of Heroes;
  • agreed on the participation of Bakhmut residents and children from Bakhmut in Christmas and New Year's events in Kremenchuk.

It is particularly symbolic that Bakhmut and Kremenchuk share the same date of birth — both cities were founded in 1571.

This is another historical bridge that further unites our communities in shared values and aspirations.

The meeting resulted in a decision to continue the partnership.

The communities are starting to develop a joint action plan and are already planning the next meeting — this time offline in Kremenchuk — to deepen cooperation and implement the first initiatives.

Culture remains the space where communities support each other, preserve memory, and create the foundation for future recovery.

Together we are stronger 💛💙
