Through effective partnerships between the government, the business sector, educational institutions, and civic initiatives, a new model of social policy is taking shape in Ukraine.
Tetyana Kirienko, Deputy Minister of Social Policy, Family, and Unity, notes: “The best way to adapt to a new community is to build a successful career. Today, we are joining forces around initiatives such as the “Prikhytok. Work” platform, which helps people find jobs and integrate into the economic life of communities, as well as the educational opportunities offered by KSE ProfTech, which provide access to modern professions and new skills.”
The Kyiv School of Economics ProfTech, together with the “Prikhytok. Work” and the NGO “IDPs of Ukraine,” with the support of the Ministry of Social Policy, Family, and Unity of Ukraine, have launched a joint project—free technical training for internally displaced persons with subsequent employment. In a relatively short period—two to six weeks—you can acquire a new technical profession.
Training is conducted by instructors with many years of experience using state-of-the-art equipment, and 80% of the course consists of practical training. All programs are tailored to business needs, so employment after training is guaranteed. KSE ProfTech offers free training on the condition of employment with its partners.
KSE ProfTech has been operating for about a year in response to the government’s call for qualified specialists. Currently, 433 students have joined KSE ProfTech, 130 of whom have already graduated, and 80% of them have found new jobs.
The training is completely free and funded by donors and employers. Currently, training programs are available in the following fields: CNC machine operators, electronics, welding, and engineering.
Today, KSE ProfTech collaborates with companies in the fields of mechanical engineering, the defense industry, industrial automation, electronics, and construction—sectors where the demand for qualified technical specialists is growing the fastest.
Employment is guaranteed within 2–6 weeks, as all training programs are designed to meet business needs. Upon completion of the training course, participants receive a state-recognized certificate.
