For older adults and people with disabilities who require medical care, long-distance travel poses a serious challenge. The team at the “Sхід SOS” Charitable Foundation responded to a request from the administration of the Selidiv Central City Hospital—which has currently been relocated to the Odesa region—to provide social transportation for six patients from the Poltava region who need to continue their treatment there.

The foundation’s evacuation teams have extensive experience in rescuing people from frontline communities and organizing subsequent logistics.

“Such support is extremely important for our hospital. We are grateful to the “Sхід SOS” Charitable Foundation team for helping to organize timely transportation, as such transfers are a difficult ordeal for the elderly and those who require inpatient care. Previously, all of them had been evacuated from frontline settlements. Due to the war, these people have lost their homes and now require special attention, treatment, and care,” noted Natalia Komar, director of the Selidovo Central City Hospital.

Since 2024, the foundation has been providing systematic support to the Selidovo Central City Hospital. Back when the facility was still operating in Donetsk Oblast, following one of the enemy shelling attacks, the “Sхід SOS” Charitable Foundation team promptly provided the hospital with construction materials to repair the damage. Later, they donated modern medical training equipment worth nearly 230,000 hryvnias for practicing resuscitation and injection techniques.

In addition, through the Foundation’s partnership with the Ministry of Social Policy, Family, and Unity of Ukraine, long-term medical care was provided last year to 20 people evacuated from frontline areas at the Selidovo Central City Hospital.

Social transportation to the Odesa region was provided as part of the EMPOWER project, which is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) in partnership with the European Union and implemented by GIZ Ukraine.
