In today’s “Questions and Answers” section, we explain whether the period of participation in publicly useful works assigned by the employment service is included in the insurance record.
Yes. The period during which able-bodied individuals participate in publicly useful works under martial law is counted toward the insurance record. During this time, participants receive wages, and the single social contribution (SSC) is paid on their behalf. This serves as the basis for including this period in the insurance record for pension entitlement and other social benefits.
A fixed-term employment contract is concluded with each person involved in publicly useful works. All relevant requirements of labor protection legislation and mandatory state social insurance apply to them.
As of January 1, 2026, payment for a full month of participation in publicly useful works amounts to at least UAH 8,647.
