State support for veterans in the labor market: financial incentives for employers

Published 24 March 2026 year, 11:41

The State Employment Service implements a mechanism of financial incentives for employers who hire combat veterans from among registered unemployed individuals. If a veteran is registered with the employment center for more than one month, the employer can receive compensation during martial law amounting to 100% of actual labor costs, but not exceeding UAH 12,970.50 per month. Payments are made for every odd month from the date of employment, and the total duration of compensation is up to 6 months within a year.

This approach allows employers to reduce financial burdens, facilitate the adaptation of a new employee, and create stable job opportunities. At the same time, for veterans, it is a real opportunity to return to professional activity, feel востребованість (demand), and receive state support.

If an employer is ready to hire a combat veteran who lacks the necessary qualifications, the employment service organizes training, retraining, or advanced training for the future employee. This helps align business needs with the capabilities and potential of veterans, ensuring effective and long-term cooperation.

Today, supporting veterans is not only a social responsibility but also an investment in a strong, motivated, and responsible workforce. The employment service acts as a reliable partner in this process, supporting both employers and job seekers at every stage—from консультацій (consultations) to actual employment.
