On December 16, another stage of the “Own Business” program was held in Sloviansk, where entrepreneurs defended their business plans. The projects envisage the creation of new jobs, expansion of local services, and a focus on the real needs of communities, combining business interests with the restoration of the region’s economic potential.

Among the program participants is Heorhii, a combat veteran who plans to launch a business in the field of intercity passenger transportation in Kramatorsk. The grant funds are planned to be used to purchase a vehicle. Implementation of the project will ensure stable self-employment and, in the future, the creation of two jobs, as well as improve the quality of transport services in the region.

Another project was presented by a Kramatorsk-based company engaged in wholesale trade of construction materials. The LLC plans to expand its warehouse infrastructure by purchasing a frontal pallet racking system. The project will make it possible to optimize logistics, expand the product range, improve occupational safety, and increase the efficiency of goods storage.

Also among the participants is Olena, an active entrepreneur from Sloviansk. She is developing a business renting electric scooters under the franchise of the “Prokataysia” network. The business model focuses on environmentally friendly, fast, and convenient transportation. The entrepreneur plans to use the grant funds to purchase new electric scooters, which will allow her to scale up the business and create jobs.

Another project was presented by Mykhailo from Kramatorsk. His idea is to create a coffee shop with elements of a small library — a space for communication and leisure. The grant funds are planned to be used to purchase professional equipment, furniture, raw materials, and advertising services.

These examples demonstrate that the “Own Business” grant program enables the launch and scaling of viable businesses, the creation of jobs, stimulation of consumer demand, and support for the region’s economy.

For reference: “Own Business” is a grant program of the Ministry of Economy and a component of the state policy “Made in Ukraine.” Over three years, the program has supported more than 28,000 Ukrainian entrepreneurs who launched thousands of businesses across the country and, in turn, created over 51,000 jobs. The total amount of grants paid exceeds UAH 5 billion.
