Home is more than walls. It's a place where love, memories and a sense of security are kept.
Since January 2024, the reconstruction team of the Vostok SOS Charitable Foundation has restored 918 houses in Donetsk Oblast affected by Russian shelling.
Behind each number are the fates of people who have worked all their lives, raised children, and protected their homes and farms. The war broke into their lives, leaving ruins not only in their yards but also in their hearts. Volunteers are helping to restore the most important thing - a sense of security and peace. We share the stories of two women from the Kramatorsk district whose homes were restored by the team of the charity organization "Vostok SOS".
The repair work is being carried out within the framework of the project "Comprehensive Humanitarian Response to the Needs of Conflict-Affected Ukrainians and Third Country Nationals in Ukraine, Poland, Romania and Moldova" with the support of the Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe and funding from the German Foreign Office.
