As part of the regional cultural and artistic project “Donetsk Region in Embroidery,” one of the key stages has been completed: a photo shoot of embroidered shirts from the local communities of the Donetsk region. Over the course of three eventful days, the project team documented unique examples of traditional embroidery from all 46 communities in the region, which will form the basis of a future photo album.
Specialists from the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Regional State Administration worked on the photographs and models’ looks in collaboration with the Donetsk Regional Educational and Methodological Center for Culture. Professional photographers, makeup artists, and representatives of the region’s communities joined the creative process, presenting the embroidered shirts from their areas and helping to recreate the unique images of their native land.
Each photograph preserves the history of a community, its traditions, symbols, and the memories of generations. The patterns, color palette, and authentic elements of the attire reveal the richness of Donetsk Oblast’s cultural heritage, highlighting the distinctiveness of each community and the uniqueness of its cultural traditions.
The completion of the photo shoot was an important step in the project’s implementation, but ahead lie the preparation of a photo album, new creative stages, and many more exciting developments.
