On June 13, the Donetsk Regional Youth Center gathered young people, youth workers, and representatives of public initiatives for the training “Social Cohesion and Diversity”.
The first block of the training was dedicated to understanding the very concept of “social cohesion”. It is relevant that in the conditions of social transformations, it is the ability to trust, cooperate, and support that becomes a reliable foundation. The trainer drew attention to the fact that cohesion is the key to preserving peace, mutual understanding, and harmony in communities.
The next block touched on the topic of “diversity”. The participants emphasized that ethnic, cultural, religious, and linguistic differences are not an obstacle, but an opportunity to make our society brighter and stronger. The participants discussed how to involve people from different social groups in a common cause and how to maintain a balance between uniqueness and solidarity.
Participants worked on real cases, which became a moment of informal acquaintance and created an impulse of real trust. Despite different experiences, status and views, the atmosphere was truly family: everyone felt heard.
Participants left with new ideas for their communities, plans for the future and an emotional charge.
