Oleksandr Marchenko, Deputy Head of the Bakhmut City Military Administration, took part in the grand opening of Primary School No. 1 in the Hostomel Settlement Territorial Community.
During the first weeks of the full-scale invasion, the school sustained damage. After de-occupation, children studied in neighboring villages, with classes organized in two shifts to ensure the continuity of the educational process.
Thanks to the support of European partners and the persistence of local authorities, a modern educational space has now been created in Gostomel, where children will not only gain knowledge but also develop essential skills. Playgrounds for sports and active recreation have been set up.
As part of the national program “Side by Side: United Communities,” the Bakhmut community has provided Gostomel with modern educational equipment, technical supplies, and a school bus. Now, every digital lesson and every school bus ride will carry a piece of Bakhmut’s warmth and resilience.
Let’s move forward together. Side by side.
