In the Kherson region, the occupiers have begun to create another pseudo-museum modeled on the Mariupol project "Battlefield. Mariupol," which the occupying authorities implemented in December 2025.

The experience of Mariupol clearly demonstrates the true purpose of such "museums" — to impose a distorted version of history. In particular, they tell stories about Soviet Mariupol, promote a fake narrative about the "Ukrainian occupation" of 2014–2022, spread fabrications about "punitive battalions," and display trophies of the so-called "svo." It is noteworthy that the pseudo-museum in occupied Kherson Oblast is being created by the same people as in Mariupol.
The purpose of opening such "museums" is the Kremlin's attempt to shift the responsibility for the war, destroyed cities, mass killings, and torture onto the Ukrainians themselves and to legalize armed aggression, justifying its own war crimes.
Such "museums" are not about culture or memory, but a way to destroy Ukrainian identity and impose the Russian version of the war on the residents of the temporarily occupied territories.
