On June 20, a meeting was held at the “Mangush” Resilience Center in Kyiv with war veterans, military personnel released from captivity, their family members, as well as the families of prisoners of war and Defenders of Ukraine missing in action from the Mangush and Kalchitsa communities.

Representatives from the regional state administration’s department for veteran policy, the Secretariat of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, and the Mariupol District State Administration also participated in the meeting, titled “A Community Without Barriers: A Dialogue on Equal Opportunities.”

During the meeting, participants discussed issues of social protection, medical and psychological rehabilitation, employment, accessibility of services, as well as the implementation of national and local programs to support war veterans and their families. Special attention was paid to creating a barrier-free environment and ensuring equal opportunities for the full integration of Ukraine’s defenders—both men and women—into public life.

Artur Nasibyan, Head of the Department of Veterans’ Policy at the Regional State Administration, briefed those present on the social benefits provided at the national and regional levels and addressed the current issues raised by the event participants.

Additionally, we would like to note that the “Defenders of Donetsk Region” chatbot on Telegram (t.me/ZakhysnykyDonechchyny_bot) is available to provide information and assistance to veterans and their families.
