On the occasion of the International Family Day, the Platform “Center for Unity and National Resistance” of Donetsk Oblast, based on the Donetsk Oblast Youth Center, together with the Department of Culture, Youth and Sports of the Novogrodov City Council, held an online meeting dedicated to the role of the family as the foundation of the stability and unity of Ukrainian society.

The event brought together youth, volunteers, educators, veterans and families of Defenders of Ukraine from various communities of Donetsk Oblast.

During the meeting, participants shared personal stories of indomitability, the strength of family and service to the community.

Olena Fidrya - director of the Municipal Cultural Institution “Donetsk Regional Art Museum”, wife of the deceased Hero of the Russian-Ukrainian War, teacher and historian Maksym Fidrya - spoke about family values, the power of living memory and the importance of educating young people on the example of love for Ukraine and responsibility for the future of the state.

Oksana Zabyvorota - a teacher of Ukrainian language and literature, an internally displaced person from the Novogrodov community - shared her story of her own resilience. After being evacuated to Poland, she continued her educational activities, teaching Ukrainian and Polish students. Despite the loss of her son Stanislav, who died defending Ukraine, Ms. Oksana continues to work to support children and develop mutual understanding between peoples.

Tetyana Yakubenko - a resident of Kramatorsk, the wife of a military man and the founder of the "East of Life" foundation - spoke about volunteer work and support for residents of the front-line city. Together with her son, she helps internally displaced persons, children, people with disabilities and everyone who needs help.

The meeting once again confirmed: the Ukrainian family is a space of strength, support and unwavering faith in the future.

We thank all participants for their sincerity and openness.

Infinite gratitude to our Defenders for the opportunity to be together.
