On October 19, an online meeting of the Coordination Headquarters on the Implementation of Veterans’ Policy and the Establishment of the Corresponding Regional Infrastructure was held.

The event was chaired by Ruslan Prykhodko, Deputy Minister for European Integration and Deputy Head of the Coordination Headquarters.

Representatives of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, district state administrations, and district military administrations participated in the meeting.

During the event, participants discussed current issues related to the implementation of veteran policy at the national, regional, and local levels.

In particular, they discussed the current status of subvention fund utilization, available balances, and the need for financial resources through the end of 2026.

Special attention was given to determining the next steps for providing employees of regional military administrations and their subordinate structural units responsible for veterans’ policy with access to the Office of the Authorized Representative (OAR) of the Unified State Register of War Veterans (USRWW).

The meeting participants also considered the issue of conducting a comprehensive review of the social protection system for war veterans and their families and discussed problematic aspects of implementing veterans’ policy at the local and regional levels.

The issues raised are crucial for improving support mechanisms for war veterans and their families, increasing the efficiency of budget spending, and further developing the regional infrastructure for veterans’ policy.

Donetsk Oblast continues to work on improving its veterans’ policy system to ensure adequate support for Ukraine’s defenders and their families.
