Donetsk Region Receives State Funding to Provide Free Meals for All Students Attending Relocated Schools In Person

Published 17 July 2026 year, 18:23

The Head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Vadym Filashkin, announced on his Facebook page that the Donetsk region has received a state subsidy to provide free meals for all students attending relocated educational institutions in person.

The funding has already been transferred by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. It will ensure that children receive nutritious hot meals regardless of their family's financial situation.

The initiative is being implemented at the request of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. During the war, it is especially important to support children from the Donetsk region who continue their education far from home in schools reestablished by their communities in safer regions of the country.

All territorial communities will receive the necessary funding to organize school meals for students attending relocated schools.

"I thank the President of Ukraine for his attention to the needs of children, as well as the Government and members of Parliament for supporting this decision.

Our task is to use these funds effectively and ensure that every child attending school in person receives high-quality meals," Vadym Filashkin emphasized.
