Vocational education and training centers in Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions jointly organized the implementation of the nationwide cultural and educational project "Bread — the Language of the Nation."

The project ran from November 2025 to February 2026 on the initiative of the public organization "Association of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers of Dnipro" and aimed to preserve and promote Ukrainian baking traditions as part of Ukraine's intangible cultural heritage.

The project was aimed at organizing research activities for teachers and students to identify, record, and promote ancient authentic recipes for Ukrainian bread and brought together 112 presentation materials from 38 vocational education institutions in 13 regions of Ukraine. Donetsk region presented nine works.

Participants sent descriptions of recipes, historical references, and technological charts for the preparation of authentic products.

The main areas of the submitted recipes were:

  • ceremonial and festive bread;
  • everyday regional bread products;
  • products associated with family traditions and local characteristics.

Work is currently underway to systematize the presentation materials received, and there are plans to use them in the future to prepare a printed and electronic publication.

The Educational and Methodological Center for Vocational and Technical Education in Donetsk Oblast expresses its sincere gratitude to the participants of the All-Ukrainian cultural and educational project "Bread — the Language of the Nation" for their activity, professionalism, and significant contribution to the preservation of Ukraine's cultural heritage.
