On April 30, the regional stage of the futsal competition took place at the “Slobozhansky” sports complex as part of the large-scale national project “Side by Side All-Ukrainian student league.” Teams from higher education institutions of Donetsk Oblast and the region’s team participated in the event.
The highlight of the single-round tournament was the championship match between students from the Donbas state machine-building academy and the Donbas state pedagogical university. The intense game ended with a score of 4-3 in favor of the DSMBA team.
The winners of the regional stage earned the right to compete in the next, interregional round of the competition. The Donetsk Oblast team will face representatives from the Luhansk, Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, and Chernihiv regions.
This was the first time student competitions were held as part of the “Side by Side” project. At the same time, this initiative has significant potential for growth: plans include expanding the participation of higher education institutions and further strengthening the student sports movement.
