As part of interregional cooperation, the Donetsk Regional Center for Tourism and Local History for Schoolchildren, together with the Kirovohrad Regional Branch of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine, held an indoor orienteering competition.

The competition took place at the ART PLUS Lyceum, a municipal institution of the Kropyvnytskyi City Council.

About 90 participants took part in the event, including children from among the displaced persons from the Donetsk region. The young athletes demonstrated interest, endurance, and the ability to navigate in non-standard conditions.

The main goal of the competition was to establish and strengthen cooperation between educational institutions in the Donetsk and Kirovohrad regions, to involve children from among displaced persons in sports and educational initiatives, as well as to promote and support orienteering — a sport that harmoniously combines physical activity, logical thinking, and spatial navigation skills.

Although orienteering competitions traditionally take place in open areas, the indoor orienteering format is becoming increasingly popular, opening up new opportunities for both participants and organizers.

Participation in the competition gave the children vivid emotions, valuable practical experience, and a boost of positive energy that motivates them to further sporting achievements and active participation in similar events.
