This year, the State Employment Service (SES) has issued 92,000 referrals to internally displaced persons and temporarily unemployed citizens under the “Recovery Army” project. Since the launch of the program, such work has been provided 308,000 times.

Publicly useful work is actively carried out in 19 regions of Ukraine. The most popular regions for this type of employment are Kharkiv, Donetsk, Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Poltava.

Since 2022, when the “Recovery Army” program began, the SES has issued 308,000 referrals for publicly useful work and funded them in the amount of UAH 2.7 billion.

From the start of this year alone, there have been 92,000 referrals, with payments to workers totaling UAH 870 million.

The “Recovery Army” program allows unemployed citizens to be engaged in temporary work while career advisors search for permanent employment opportunities. The wide range of such jobs varies from assisting people affected by hostilities to restoring critical infrastructure and building defensive fortifications for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Each region independently determines the scope of work needed.

Currently, most regions are expanding the list of activities under the “Recovery Army” program. Ukrainians can now also perform tasks such as:

– providing legal and psychological support to families of servicemen, including those killed or missing;

– producing camouflage nets and trench candles, sewing adaptive clothing and special pillows for the wounded, repairing military equipment for the Armed Forces of Ukraine;

– preparing food supplies for the military: making field rations and energy bars, baking long-shelf-life bread;

– assisting the population, primarily people with disabilities, children, the elderly, the ill, and others unable to cope with adverse technological, natural, or wartime factors on their own.

The “Recovery Army” project provides people with work and communities with support and recovery. To join the project, one must contact any employment center and submit an application.

After that, a referral is issued, and the person can start working.
