In Kyiv, a significant event for the educational community took place in a mixed format – the all-Ukrainian educational forum "STEM Spring: Effective Practices and Development Prospects".
The organizers of this large-scale event were the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the State Scientific Institution "Institute for Modernization of the Content of Education", and the Charitable Foundation "Fund for Educational Initiatives". Significant support in organizing the forum was also provided by leading companies and publishers that are reliable partners in the development of STEM education: the Small Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Logitech, Accord Group, STEM-class, the Publishing House "Education", and "HUAWEI Ukraine". Their joint work emphasizes the importance of public-private partnerships in achieving significant results in the field of education and forming a competitive generation.
The forum became a platform for exchanging experiences and demonstrating achievements. Its central event was the summarization of a decade-long journey of implementing STEM in Ukraine. During this time, STEM education, as an integrated approach to learning, has not only taken root in Ukrainian schools but has also proven its effectiveness in preparing youth for modern challenges.
Donetsk region has also become a vivid example of successful implementation of STEM initiatives: educational institutions actively integrate innovative methodologies, develop technical thinking, and foster students' creativity.
The Donetsk Regional Institute of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education received a special recognition – a letter of thanks from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the State Scientific Institution "Institute for Modernization of the Content of Education" for high professionalism, fruitful pedagogical activity, and significant contribution to the popularization of STEM education among students. This is evidence of the systematic and dedicated work of educators in Donetsk, who, by their example, demonstrate the importance of innovation in education even in difficult conditions – during martial law.
The all-Ukrainian educational forum not only summarized the past but also outlined the prospects for further development of STEM education in Ukraine. The effective practices discussed, the exchange of experiences, and the establishment of cooperation among all participants in the educational process will be the key to further successes in forming a new generation of Ukrainian engineers, scientists, and innovators. STEM education is an investment in the future, and Ukraine confidently strides along this path.
The forum was a vivid confirmation that STEM education in Ukraine is actively developing, acquiring new forms, and reaching an increasing number of educational institutions across the country, including Donetsk. A decade of implementing STEM is just the beginning of a great journey towards forming a successful and competitive Ukrainian nation, ready for the challenges of the digital age.
