The celebrations marking the 105th anniversary of Donetsk National Technical University took place in the city of Drohobych, Lviv Oblast, where the relocated institution is currently based.
Despite the forced relocation and the challenges of war, DonNTU has preserved its scientific and human resources, continues its educational and scientific activities, and trains specialists for various sectors of Ukraine’s economy.
Ihor Haievyi, Director of the Department of Education and Science of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, took part in the celebrations. He expressed deep gratitude to the staff for their resilience and dedication to their work, conveyed greetings and thanks from Vadym Filashkin, Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, presented awards from the department, and also presented the university with a commemorative gift from the Donetsk Regional State Administration.
Yaroslav Petsyukh, Deputy Head of the Drohobych District State Administration, spoke words of support and recognition of the university’s significant achievements, presenting honorary commendations from the Lviv Regional Military Administration and the Drohobych District State Administration. On behalf of the Drohobych City Council, Yuriy Kushlyk, Deputy Mayor for Humanitarian and Social Relations, congratulated the university and highlighted the important role of DonNTU in the region’s educational landscape.
Partners and colleagues of DonNTU from higher education, pre-higher vocational, and professional education institutions in the Drohobych region, as well as representatives of the public, students, and the Drohobych City Youth Council, attended the event to share in the joy of the anniversary.
A highlight of the celebration was a performance by the university’s student body. Members of various creative groups prepared artistic performances and presented the play *From the Depths of Memory* by the student theater troupe “404: Theater of States.” The festivities concluded with a performance by the Drohobych Municipal Chamber Choir “Legend.”
Today, Donetsk National Technical University remains an important component of the educational and scientific landscape of the Donetsk region. Despite its forced relocation, the institution continues to develop, preserve its traditions, and provide high-quality training for specialists dedicated to the reconstruction and development of Ukraine.
