On June 10, representatives of the Regional State Administration’s Department of Veterans’ Policy delivered a lecture to participants from across Ukraine on the topic “Practical Aspects of Implementing Uniform Standards for Local Support of Veterans and Families of Fallen Defenders in the Donetsk Region.”
The session took place as part of a professional training program under general short-term advanced training programs on the implementation of veteran policy in 2026, introduced by the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine.
The program aims to enhance the professional competence of civil servants, local government officials, and other specialists involved in implementing state veteran policy by addressing current issues related to social protection for war veterans, the digitization of services, medical and psychological support, veteran education, professional adaptation, and the provision of administrative services.
Artur Nasibyan, Head of the Department of Veterans’ Policy at the Regional State Administration, shared his experience regarding the interaction and coordination between the regional authority and district-level units on veterans’ policy matters, as well as local authorities, and emphasized the importance of treating veterans, their family members, and the family members of (deceased) Defenders of Ukraine, regardless of their place of residence within a local, settlement, or rural territorial community.
Inna Starostina, Deputy Head of the Regional State Administration’s Department of Veterans’ Policy, shared her practical experience in implementing standardized local programs to provide additional social benefits to war veterans, their family members, and the family members of fallen (deceased) of Ukraine, developed in accordance with two state strategies on veteran policy approved by the Government.
