At the age of 55, Serhii from Kramatorsk found himself facing the need to search for a new job. Despite his extensive professional experience and willingness to work, his independent job search did not bring the desired results. To receive support and expand his employment opportunities, he turned to the Employment Service.
During a consultation, a career advisor helped him analyze his professional background, identify relevant vacancies, and suggested that he join the national project **“Experience Matters,”** created specifically for people aged 50 and older.
The project aims to help experienced professionals find employment while enabling employers to attract responsible and qualified workers. Participants can complete a profile on a dedicated platform of the State Employment Service. The system then matches candidates’ professional backgrounds, education, and skills with current employer needs and recommends suitable job opportunities.
Serhii took advantage of this opportunity and registered on the platform.
“I didn’t have to browse through dozens of vacancies on my own. The system analyzed my experience, education, and skills and suggested a suitable position. I went through an interview and an internship. This allowed me to get acquainted with the future job, understand my responsibilities, and feel like part of the team even before being officially hired,” Serhii shares.
After successfully completing the internship, where he demonstrated responsibility, discipline, and a strong work ethic, the employer invited him to join the team.
The Donetsk Regional Employment Service encourages citizens aged 50+ to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the “Experience Matters” project and receive support on their path to new employment opportunities.
