Is it necessary to notify the Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU) if a child has enrolled in an educational institution?
Yes, if the fact of studying affects the right to receive or continue receiving state social assistance.
Pursuant to Article 14 of the Law of Ukraine "On State Social Assistance to Persons Who Are Not Entitled to a Pension, and Persons with Disabilities," assistance recipients are required to notify the Pension Fund of Ukraine of circumstances that may affect the conditions of its granting and payment.
It is necessary to inform the PFU, in particular, if:
* The child has enrolled in an educational institution and the study affects the right to assistance;
* The mode of study has changed;
* The child has completed their studies or has been expelled;
* Other changes have occurred that may affect the right to assistance or its amount.
For example, children of a deceased breadwinner who are enrolled in full-time education may, in cases specified by law, receive assistance until they complete their studies, but no longer than until they reach 23 years of age.
Please note: The enrollment of a child in an educational institution does not affect the right to payment for all types of state social assistance.
Timely notification to the PFU will help ensure the correct continuation of payments and prevent overpayments.
