As part of the environmental initiative “ECOstart is possible for everyone!”, the team from Nikolska territorial community continues to confidently promote the ideas of a sustainable lifestyle among young people. A series of creative master classes were held in Dnipro as part of the “DIY Community” mini-grant competition. The event was implemented as part of the UNICEF program in Donetsk region in partnership with the public organization “Charivni Runy”.
Participants had the opportunity to show their creativity in making their own eco-bags: they sewed, painted shoppers and fruit bowls, creating unique items for everyday use that do not harm the environment. In addition, using the sublimation technique, young people applied eco-designs to their own cups and thermoses, giving them an individual style.
However, these master classes were not only about creativity. It was an opportunity for participants to join in group work, discuss the importance of environmental responsibility and learn more about simple habits that can save the environment. Young people jointly formed an idea of an ecological lifestyle - from sorting garbage to conscious consumption of resources.
Through the creative process, we tried to convey a very simple ECO message to the youth of the Mariupol district, including from the Nikolsk territorial community, Donetsk region: “My own shopper and thermos today - will save the planet tomorrow!”
The UNICEF program in Donetsk region is implemented by the NGO “Zahody” in partnership with the NGO “Krayina Rozvytku” with the support of the Donetsk regional state administration.
