On the eve of the international conference Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC 2025), which took place on July 10-11 in Rome, gender advisor to the head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration and military administration Natalia Kyrkach participated in an important high-level meeting organized in collaboration with WIIS Italy and its president Dr. Loredana Teodorescu.
The meeting brought together prominent Ukrainian women leaders and members of the Italian parliament from various political forces for a meaningful exchange on the inclusive recovery of Ukraine. The discussion focused on promoting women's participation in decision-making processes, peacebuilding, strengthening democratic institutions, and long-term support for those affected by the war, especially the most vulnerable groups.
"The recovery of Ukraine is not just about infrastructure. It is primarily about preserving and restoring human capital, rebuilding social infrastructure, strengthening democracy, and ensuring a decent life for everyone affected by the war. Women must be at the center of this process — their experience, leadership, and vision for peace must be integrated at all stages of reconstruction," noted Natalia Kyrkach.
The event was part of the broader #URC2025 program and took place with the support of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Chamber of Deputies of Italy, particularly with the participation of the Vice President of the Commission on International Affairs, Ms. Lia Quartapelle, to whom special thanks were expressed for facilitating the dialogue.
Ms. Natalia also confirmed her readiness for further cooperation with Italian partners to promote the agenda of "Women, Peace, and Security" and support women's leadership in the recovery processes in Ukraine, particularly in communities that have been most affected by the war, such as in the Donetsk region.
