The basis for granting temporary disability benefits is a sick leave certificate issued on the basis of a medical opinion on temporary disability (Article 23 of the Law of Ukraine No. 1105-XIV of September 23, 1999, “On Compulsory State Social Insurance”).
The procedure for forming medical conclusions on temporary incapacity for work in the Register of Medical Conclusions in the electronic health care system, approved by the order of the Ministry of Health dated June 1, 2021 No. 1066, provides that if a patient aged 14 or older requires care, their attending physician shall issue a medical certificate of the category “Care for a sick family member” for the person who will provide such care.
