A festive event marking Youth Day was held in Kropyvnytskyi at the Volodymyr Vynnychenko Central Ukrainian State University. The event brought together active, creative, and engaged young people, who had the opportunity to enjoy themselves, discover new hobbies, and try their hand at various creative pursuits.
The Donetsk Regional Center for Tourism and Local History for Schoolchildren, which has relocated to Kropyvnytskyi, joined the celebration by organizing a creative pottery workshop. Among the workshop participants were children from internally displaced families, for whom such events provide yet another opportunity for social interaction, creative development, and meaningful leisure activities.
During the workshop, participants learned the basics of pottery, practiced working with natural materials, and created their own clay pieces. For many, this was their first experience at the potter’s wheel, which provided new experiences, an opportunity to unleash their imagination, and the satisfaction of seeing the results of their own work.
It was especially gratifying to observe the participants’ genuine interest: some confidently sat down at the potter’s wheel, while others initially approached the unfamiliar material with caution. But within just a few minutes, everyone was united by their enthusiasm for the process, their smiles, and their pride in the pieces they had created with their own hands.
The Donetsk Regional Center for Tourism and Local History for Schoolchildren continues to work with children from the Donetsk region who are now in the Kirovohrad region and invites them to join the pottery club, which holds in-person classes.
