At a time when Ukraine is defending its independence, defense does not only begin on the front lines — it begins in the hearts and actions of every citizen. The Donetsk region understands this well: after the successful start of the first wave of exercises, the second group of students of basic training for national resistance has begun — another step in strengthening the community’s common security and readiness to act.
The main organizer of this work is the Platform “Center for Unity and National Resistance” of the Donetsk region, created on the basis of the Donetsk Regional Youth Center. It was she who initiated the systematic training of citizens and coordinates the training together with partners from the Dnipropetrovsk region.
New participants from the Donetsk region have joined the intensive 48-hour program conducted by the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Center for Training the Population for National Resistance. This is not just training - it is the formation of readiness to act, respond to the challenges of time and help others in conditions of danger.
Initial training has already brought together more than 8,500 residents of the region, who have acquired basic knowledge of first aid, mine safety and behavior in emergency situations. Basic training raises the bar higher: actions in conditions of combat threats, handling weapons, orientation in the terrain, psychological resilience and interaction in a team.
Instructors - including veterans and experienced specialists - transfer not only knowledge, but also their own combat experience that saves lives.
This inter-regional initiative is the result of cooperation between the Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions, a vivid example of how unity creates strength. Support from the regional administration, departments of civil defense, youth policy and national-patriotic education provides coordination and methodological assistance, and the platform is financed from the regional budget.
Today, a generation is being formed in the Donetsk region that does not wait to be protected - it is preparing to protect itself. The second group of listeners is another page in the great history of unity, responsibility and readiness.
