Today, Ukraine celebrates National Day of Prayer – a symbol of unity, spiritual strength, and faith in victory. For the fourth year in a row, this date unites millions of Ukrainians in common prayer – for the state, for our defenders, for everyone who gave their lives for Ukraine's freedom, for families who have suffered irreparable losses.
In 2022, on this very day, a new, most brutal stage of Russia's prolonged aggression against Ukraine began. The enemy counted on the rapid destruction of our statehood. But it was met with nationwide resistance, unity, and faith that cannot be broken.
Today, in the city of Dnipro, a joint prayer for Ukraine was held in the central diocesan church of the Icon of the Mother of God "Unexpected Joy" of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. Representatives of all territorial communities of Donetsk region joined in.
Metropolitan Sergiy (Gorobtsov) of Donetsk and Mariupol led the prayer service at the "Good Morning, We Are from Mariupol" hub.
After the service, participants laid flowers at the Heroes' Memorial, honoring the memory of our fallen soldiers. The memory of them is in the hearts of each of us.
Today, prayer is not just a spiritual tradition. It is our inner support. It is the silence in which faith resounds. It is the unity that makes us stronger.
Let us remember. Let us unite.
We believe in Ukraine and its bright future.
