As part of a working trip to Kyiv on May 21, 2026, Oleksandra Zhuravel, Chief of Staff of the Regional State Administration, and Olena Tokareva, Director of the Department of Social Protection of the Regional State Administration, visited the humanitarian centers of the Avdiivka, Bakhmut, and Mariupol City Military Administrations, the Kalchitska settlement military administration, as well as the Mangushka settlement military administration’s Resilience Center.

During the visit, special attention was paid to the organization of humanitarian, social, psychological, and counseling assistance for residents of Donetsk Oblast who, due to the war, were forced to leave their homes and evacuate to safer regions of Ukraine.

They discussed key issues regarding the organization of the centers’ operations, including, where necessary, improving conditions and enhancing service delivery to meet the current needs of displaced residents of the region who visit the centers daily.

It was noted that the hubs are places where residents can not only receive necessary assistance but also feel the support and unity of our region, and that staff members make significant daily efforts to support people by providing the necessary assistance.

During the meetings, Oleksandra Zhuravel expressed her gratitude to the staff of the humanitarian hubs and support centers for their daily dedicated work, compassion, and support for the residents of Donetsk Oblast. It is precisely thanks to the joint efforts of the state, communities, volunteers, and partners that it is possible to provide the necessary assistance to people affected by armed aggression.

Separately, during the working trip, they visited the Mangushka Settlement Military Administration’s Resilience Center, which actively provides assistance to enhance the resilience and adaptation of the population to difficult living conditions. Thanks to the Center’s support, people from across the Donetsk region receive the necessary resources to overcome difficulties, adapt to changes, and improve their quality of life.

The Resilience Center helps the population cope with stress, strengthen psychological resilience, and find new opportunities for development.

The Center provides psychological counseling, conducts group sessions, trainings, and events for children and adults aimed at overcoming stress, restoring inner resources, and building resilience to life’s challenges.

During the visit, they discussed the further development of the Resilience Center’s services, the need to support its psychological work, and expanding opportunities to assist residents of Donetsk Oblast who were forced to leave their homes due to the war. The Center has become an important space for support, trust, and recovery for internally displaced persons in the capital.

In Kyiv, systematic support for displaced persons from the Donetsk region continues at 12 humanitarian hubs/centers, which have become vital centers of assistance, solidarity, and support for evacuated residents of the Donetsk region.

The work of these locations remains extremely important for displaced persons, as they are not only places to receive aid but also spaces for unity, support, and maintaining connections with their native Donetsk region.
