On February 20, Ukraine celebrates the Day of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes – a day of remembrance for the brave Ukrainians who gave their lives for the freedom, dignity, and European future of Ukraine.
On this day, humanitarian hubs/centers established for residents of Donetsk Oblast in safe regions of Ukraine joined in honoring the memory of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes.
They held remembrance hours entitled "Angels of Maidan" and "This is about Freedom," as well as events of courage and requiems entitled "Heavenly Hundred. They died for Ukraine," "And the memory of the heart, and eternal sadness," "Heaven took them, leaving lists behind." patriotic and educational hours "Heavenly Hundred: Lives Given to Ukraine," "Light of Memory of the Heavenly Hundred," "Grateful for Freedom!," "Heroes Never Die. They just go to heaven," "Angels of Maidan," "Heavenly Hundred. They died for Ukraine," "Heavenly Hundred: Heroes of the first victory in the ongoing battle," lessons of historical memory "Ukraine remembers"; memorial events "We are a people that cannot be defeated!", at which the chronology of events was reconstructed, all the heroes were remembered by name, patriotic poems were recited, and stories about the fate of the fallen patriots were told.
Exhibitions of children's drawings were organized at the locations, a film and videos about the Revolution of Dignity were watched, the photo exhibition "Unconquered Maidan" was visited, the Heavenly Hundred Museum, created angels and "Doves of Peace" souvenirs, and joined in lighting lamps on the Heavenly Hundred Heroes alleys and candles in memory of those who died on the Maidan.
Representatives of humanitarian hubs/centers, together with visitors, took part in the global silent campaign "Angels of Memory" - they made small paper angels and decorated tree branches with them as symbols of eternity, compassion, respect, prayer, and lasting memory.
They also joined the regional campaign "Tie a Ribbon of Remembrance," where the main symbol is blue and yellow ribbons tied in memory of those who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of Ukraine.
Donetsk residents took part in laying flowers at memorials to fallen heroes and honored the memory of Ukrainian defenders.
We remember the feat of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred and support those who continue their work.
May the memory of everyone who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of Ukraine live on! Let us remain worthy of our heroes!
