Canine teams from the 18th Slavic Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine perform daily vehicle inspection tasks, ensuring the safety of citizens and military personnel. Their work can be compared to a pit stop in motorsport — coordinated, fast, and with maximum attention to detail.
While on duty at checkpoints, service dogs and their handlers quickly inspect vehicles. In a matter of minutes, they check for weapons, ammunition, and other prohibited items. If no violations are found, the driver can continue on their way without hindrance.
If a service dog alerts, the vehicle is detained until all circumstances are clarified. Experts emphasize that such measures are necessary to prevent possible threats and ensure safety in conditions of martial law.
Thanks to the professionalism of the dog handlers and the training of their four-legged partners, dangerous items can be detected in a timely manner and offenses prevented. The safety of citizens remains a priority in the daily work of the brigade.
