The Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting (IER) announces a grant competition for civil society organizations (CSOs) titled “Learn. Act. Rebuild: Grant Support for Educational Initiatives for Youth.”
The competition is being held as part of the project “Resilience and Engagement for Ukraine: Empowering Civil Society to Address War-Related Needs and Advance Ukraine’s Path to the EU” and is funded by the European Union.
Expected grant amount (UAH): 500,000.00 hryvnias.
Minimum grant budget (UAH): 350,000.00 hryvnias.
Total competition budget (UAH): 4,000,000.00 hryvnias.
Expected project duration: 5 months.
The goal of the competition is to support civil society organizations (CSOs) that implement non-formal education programs for youth in the following regions: Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Chernihiv regions.
Competition priorities:
Project proposals submitted to the competition must include activities aligned with the following priorities of this competition:
- Initiatives aimed at providing young people with additional opportunities through inclusive, accessible, and relevant non-formal education: implementation of innovative educational programs that take into account war-related trauma, with the goal of creating a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment for youth affected by the war;
- Strengthening the capacity of local civil society organizations to implement innovative educational programs that take into account war-related trauma, with the aim of creating a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment for youth affected by the war;
Promoting social cohesion, civic engagement, and resilience among youth affected by the war.
Expected results:
- Increased youth participation in non-formal education programs;
- Improved skills in digital literacy, leadership, civic responsibility, and mental well-being;
- Strengthened organizational capacity of civil society organizations in project management and the delivery of educational services;
- Strengthened community networks and youth-led initiatives.
Eligible activities include:
- Digital literacy and STEM education workshops;
- Leadership and civic engagement training for youth;
- Creative self-expression programs;
- Mental health support groups;
- Online mentoring and hybrid learning platforms;
- Inclusive sports and educational programs.
- Requirements for applicants:
Nonprofit civil society organizations that have been registered in Ukraine for at least one year as of the date of the grant application submission and have the appropriate nonprofit status (0032, 0036, 0038, or 0039) are invited to participate in the competition. Priority is given to organizations that operate, are registered, and carry out activities in the specified regions of the competition.
