Donetsk Oblast continues to implement the social project “Active parks – locations of healthy Ukraine.” In July coordinators from the region organized 142 physical activity events, in which 1,813 people of all ages participated.
10 coordinators from 9 communities in Donetsk region are currently working on the implementation of the initiative. The events take various forms, from morning exercises and outdoor yoga to functional training, sports relays, and active games for children and adults.
The project covers various parts of Ukraine where residents of Donetsk region have been evacuated – Dnipro, Kamianske, Kyiv, Sofiivska Borshchahivka and Lviv. Conditions are being created for them to maintain their physical fitness, socialize and preserve their mental health through an active lifestyle.
The program is coordinated by the Donetsk regional center for physical health of population “Sport for all”, which provides methodological and organizational support, as well as monitoring the fulfillment of contract terms with coordinators: each of them must hold at least 12 events per month.
“Active parks – locations of healthy Ukraine” prove that regular physical activity remains an important component of maintaining health, unity and stability in society.
