To mark the 35th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence, Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs launched two symbolic initiatives that combined remembrance, tradition, and a vision for the future.
On the university campus, they established the “Alley of Independence”—planting trees that symbolize the life, unity, strength, and resilience of the Ukrainian people. Cadets, together with university staff, decorated the trees with blue-and-yellow ribbons, giving the alley a special patriotic significance. It has become a living symbol of the 35th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence and a reminder of the importance of unity, remembrance, and responsibility for the country’s future.
Another landmark event was the creation of the “DonDUVS Independence Time Capsule.” First-year students placed their dreams, wishes, and visions for the future of Ukraine inside it. This message has become a symbol of a generation that is currently pursuing an education, preparing for service, and contributing to the development of a strong and independent Ukraine.
