A presentation of the project “Untold Stories: Chasiv Yar: 2 Years of Defense” took place in Dnipro, dedicated to the heroic resistance of Ukrainian defenders in this strategically important city in the Donetsk region. Community representatives and young people from Donetsk Oblast had the opportunity to visit a photo exhibition and watch a documentary film, which serve as a chronicle of the defense of Chasiv Yar.

The event was attended by Oleksandr Shevchenko, Deputy Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration. He emphasized the importance of preserving the truth about events on the front lines and the courage of Ukrainian soldiers: “Today, Chasiv Yar is a shield and the key to our defense, held on their shoulders by, among others, the fighters of the 18th Sloviansk Brigade. We need this truth to understand the price of our freedom.”

The project combines the photo exhibition “Through the Fog of War: The Faces of Chasiv Yar” by photographer Yakov Lyashenko and the documentary film “Chasiv Yar: 2 Years of Defense,” created using unique video footage from soldiers on the front lines. Previous presentations have already taken place in other cities across Ukraine and have received significant public attention.

An important part of the event in Dnipro was the live discussion between the young people and the project’s creators and participants. After watching the film, attendees had the opportunity to ask questions of photographer Yakov Lyashenko, director Igor Vyalov, and Hero of Ukraine Oleksandr Rogovskyi.

Project presentations and meetings with the creative team will continue in other cities across Ukraine. Their goal is to share stories of courage, resilience, and the heroic defense of the Donetsk region with as wide an audience as possible.
