Published 15 July 2025 year, 14:48

The Lyman City Community, as part of cultural initiatives for the implementation of the National Project "Side by Side: United Communities," in collaboration with the Tyachiv Community of the Transcarpathian region, held a creative event - an ethnographic exploration "The Baptism of Kyivan Rus: A Millennium Heritage" on the Day of the Baptism of Kyivan Rus of Ukraine.

At the event, participants deepened their knowledge about a significant event in the history of our state - the Baptism of Rus in 988, initiated by Prince Volodymyr the Great. The historical significance of this event and its impact on the spiritual, cultural, and political life of the Ukrainian people were presented in an accessible form.

Particular attention was paid to the temples of the native land, which are spiritual monuments preserving the millennium heritage of Christianity on Ukrainian lands. Participants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with a thematic presentation and the first interactive tourist guide "Lyman Region" in Donetsk region.

Conducting such ethnographic explorations deepens knowledge about cultural roots and helps to feel the connection of generations that preserve and pass on traditions.
