The Mariupol community in Donetsk Oblast and the Mykolaiv community in Lviv Oblast have signed a memorandum of cooperation within the framework of the national project "Side by Side: United Communities."

The document was signed by the head of the Mariupol MBA, Vadym Boychenko, and the mayor of Mykolaiv, Andriy Shchebel.

"There are 1,300 kilometers between our cities. However, when it comes to supporting Ukrainians, distance does not exist. Last week, Mykolaiv Mayor Andriy Shchebel called with an offer of assistance, and today we have already signed a memorandum of cooperation," said Vadym Boychenko.

The memorandum includes the potential construction of social housing for Mariupol residents.

On behalf of the head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration and with the support of the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine, the Mariupol community is negotiating with international partners to increase the number of apartments for displaced persons.
