On September 26, an online meeting was held to coordinate the provision of cash and in-kind assistance to households in the frontline areas for the purchase and receipt of solid fuel for the purpose of sustainable passage through the autumn-winter period of 2025-2026. The event was chaired by Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk.
The event was attended by Deputy Head of Donetsk Oblast State Administration Oleksandr Shevchenko and heads of relevant structural units of Donetsk Oblast State Administration.
The meeting discussed the state of preparation and the start of providing financial assistance to residents within the 10-kilometer zone from the state border with Russia and the contact line, as well as in settlements located outside it. Special attention was paid to the results of the verification of household lists and coordination with regional military administrations and international partners.
Representatives of UNHCR reported that they had begun verifying the data received on recipients of financial assistance for heating and noted that residents of settlements located within the 10-kilometer zone would begin receiving payments in the near future. Representatives of the UN Children's Fund UNICEF informed about the provision of financial assistance for heating for almost 4.5 thousand households in Donetsk region.
Providing the population with solid household fuel is an extremely important task to create proper living conditions during the autumn and winter period. In cooperation with central authorities and international humanitarian organizations, Donetsk Oblast State Administration is taking all necessary measures to provide timely support to people in need.
We express our gratitude to UNHCR, the International Committee of the Red Cross, UNICEF, the Czech humanitarian organization "Person in Need" and other partners for their constant assistance and support to the residents of Donetsk region under martial law.
