A regional Youth Congress has been established in the region—a platform that will bring together active young people, help strengthen their participation in public life, and promote the development of youth initiatives.
During a briefing, Oleksandr Shevchenko, Deputy Head of the Regional State Administration, and Oleksandr Nesterenko, Chair of the Donetsk Regional Youth Congress, discussed why the creation of the Congress is important right now, how young people—including those from among the internally displaced—will be involved in its work, as well as the role of Donetsk’s youth in the region’s recovery after victory.
Despite the war, the youth of Donetsk Oblast remain active, responsible, and committed to the future of their region. That is precisely why it is important to create opportunities for their development, support young leaders, and involve them in shaping the decisions that will determine the future of Donetsk Oblast.
We believe that the Youth Congress will become a space for new ideas, effective projects, and strong youth leaders who are already working today for the future of their homeland.
