In August, students of vocational education and training institutions made a study trip to Germany.
The delegation consisted of 30 students from Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Melitopol, Kyiv, and Donetsk Oblast. Donetsk region was represented by Valeria Kasyura and Konstantin Gaivoronsky from the Lyman Vocational School.
The trip was made possible by the invitation of our German colleagues from Deutsche Bahn, the support of the Stiftung Eisenbahner-Waisenhort (EWH) and the organizational assistance of Ukrzaliznytsia.
The program was rich and diverse:
- Visits to the high-speed depot and narrow-gauge railroad;
- an introduction to the headquarters of Deutsche Bahn and a meeting with the company's management;
- an excursion to the Technical Museum of Berlin;
- familiarization with the operation of train stations as modern transportation hubs, their energy supply systems and inclusive services.
"We visited Berlin Main Station. Its scale is impressive. Our guide was manager Marco Schulz, who told us in detail about the peculiarities of the station's operation and the creation of a comfortable space for all passengers," Valeria Kasyura shared her impressions.
This trip was a valuable introduction to modern technologies and an important exchange of experience. The knowledge gained motivates Ukrainian youth to develop the transport infrastructure of our country by implementing the best European practices.
We sincerely thank our partners for supporting Ukrainian youth and welcome the participants of the study tour. We are convinced that this experience will be a valuable learning experience that will help future railroaders develop their skills and build their careers with confidence.
