As part of the “Side by Side: United Communities” project, the Zhmerynka community invites children and young people from the Druzhkivka community, ages 6 to 25, to participate in the annual original fairy tale contest “A Fairy Tale for Mr. Klyaksa.”
The contest is organized by the Department of Culture and Tourism and the Public Library of the Zhmerynka City Community.
The contest is dedicated to Jan Brzechwa, a renowned Polish writer who was born in Zhmerynka. Participants are invited to write their own story about Mr. Klyaksa and his friends or to create a fairy tale on any topic of their choice. The work should not exceed three printed pages.
Submissions will be accepted until December 20, 2026. Fairy tales can be sent to [email protected] or delivered in person to the library at 11 Yana Brzechwa St., Zhmerynka.
Last year, Maksym Zhydchenko, a student at the “Intellect” Gymnasium, represented the Druzhkivka community with distinction in the contest. His story, “The Miracle from Mr. Klyaksa’s Pockets,” took second place, and the author received a well-deserved award.
Diplomas and gifts also await the winners of this year’s contest.
If you love making up stories, creating unique characters, and discovering new worlds, don’t miss this opportunity to share your creativity. Maybe your story will win over the judges and give readers an unforgettable experience!
