The project "EcoStart" has been completed – an initiative that united the youth of the Komar community around caring for the environment and a conscious attitude towards nature.
During the project, which took place as part of the "DIY Community" mini-grant competition from UNICEF, 4 events were implemented, each of which was an important step towards forming eco-conscious thinking:
- Greening the area with roses – participants planted flowers by hand, giving new life to the shared space.
- Visit to the botanical garden – the excursion became a source of inspiration and knowledge about biodiversity and the importance of its preservation.
- Eco-challenge "Second Life of Things" – youth created useful or creative items from waste that usually pollutes the environment.
- Online game "Save the Planet" – an interactive form of learning helped to better understand global environmental challenges.
- A total of 107 participants joined, of which nearly 90% are internally displaced persons. This once again proved: ecological responsibility is a common cause that unites people despite life circumstances.
What participants gained:
- new knowledge about environmental issues and ways to overcome them;
- practical experience in sorting and greening;
- teamwork and a sense of involvement in change;
- emotional recovery through interaction with nature.
The "EcoStart" project is completed, but ecological awareness is just beginning its journey. Together – we can do more.
