As part of the program to involve young people in the restoration of Ukraine, the seventh youth exchange "VidNOVA:UA" took place 🤝🇺🇦
📅 August 10–14
📍 village of Plyushchivka, Mykolaiv region
This time, Plyushchivka brought together 30 young people from 10 regions of Ukraine,
👩 16 girls
👨 14 boys
🏠 including 4 internally displaced persons
Together, we restored 120 m² of youth space, which will once again become a place for meetings, learning, and new ideas.
During 5 busy days in the Bashtanska community, we combined joint work, learning, creativity, and recreation:
Universal design - the trainer shared the principles of accessibility and helped to see how spaces can be comfortable for everyone.
Excursion to Bashtanka — getting to know the history of the city, the museum and the former German colony.
Youth participation in decision-making — a panel discussion with the head of the Youth Council and a representative of the education department about tools for influencing community development.
Critical thinking and countering propaganda — how to recognize fakes and manipulations and protect yourself in the information space.
Pottery master class — created your own clay masterpieces.
Kayaking — discovered the beauty of local nature from a new perspective.
Evening Vatra and delicious barbecue — warm conversations, laughter and the light of a hearth that unites.
“VidNOVA:UA” is not just about restoring buildings, it is about restoring hearts, faith and unity.
The program for involving young people in the restoration of Ukraine through the implementation of youth exchanges VidNOVA:UA is implemented by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, the All-Ukrainian Youth Center, UNDP Ukraine in partnership with the NGO "Volyn Youth Center" with funding from the governments of Denmark and Japan and within the framework of the National Strategy for Creating a Barrier-Free Space in Ukraine, which is being implemented at the initiative of the First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska.
