Submissions are now being accepted in Ukraine for the nationwide youth competition for multimedia projects, “Save from Oblivion.” The event is organized by the International Charitable Foundation for the National Memory of Ukraine in collaboration with the National Museum of Ukrainian Literature, the National Union of Writers of Ukraine, the Institute of History of Ukraine of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, and the Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
The main goal of the event is to give the younger generation the opportunity to express their own perspective on the history of Ukraine through the family memories of their parents and grandparents, as well as to preserve eyewitness accounts and the memory of events in their native region.
Who can participate:
- high school students (individually or under the guidance of teachers or parents);
- students of institutions of higher and pre-higher vocational education;
- young educators under the age of 30;
- youth civic organizations and creative unions.
Requirements for contest entries:
- Format: amateur documentary or fictional (staged) videos and films in the Ukrainian language, suitable for viewing on a computer.
- Running time: the video must be between 5 and 8–9 minutes long.
- Presentation: The authors’ names and the title of the entry must be clearly indicated in the opening frames.
- Evaluation criteria: The jury highly values the originality of the author’s concept and presentation style; excessive use of pre-existing material from the internet will lower the final score.
Terms and Conditions for Awards:
- Submissions will be accepted until January 1, 2027;
- the jury’s final meeting, the announcement of results, and the presentation of entries—with the winners in attendance—are scheduled for April 15, 2027;
- winners will receive honorary awards and cash prizes.
Where to submit entries: Contest videos should be sent to the organizing committee’s email address: [email protected]. A separate file in .doc format containing a form with information about the author(s) (last name, first name, patronymic, home address, place of study or work, contact phone numbers, and email address) must be attached to the email.
